Vegetarian cuisine: a good address in the Algarve

During a recent visit to the Vilamoura area, I had the opportunity this week to discover the Restaurant Raízes ("Roots" in English) in Quarteira.

Situated just a stone's throw from the ocean, close to the Forte Novo beach, the establishment has a well exposed terrace which allows you to be sheltered from the wind ( which is not a luxury in this part of the Algarve).

Ideal for a hearty lunch outdoors after a nice walk with your pet(s).

On the menu, healthy and vegetarian dishes, fresh juices and good desserts served in colourful dishes.

We tested and loved 👍🏽

  • the bowl of seasonal vegetables and its falafels,

  • the soft sweet potatoes chips,

  • the black beans veggie burger served in a "bolo do caco" (typical Madeira wheat bread)

  • the spaghetti with tempeh (a product made from fermented soya beans).

Note that the restaurant also offers a "Take Away" service.
